I didn't have a lot of ideas when I took this other than the idea of learning to expose for this sort of night scene without relying on the automatic modes (like P and A). Night scenes really give you latitude as a photographer. There is such a wide chasm between the shadow detail and the highlights that any number of exposures are equally valid.
Try different ones.
