Decent Colour In Poor Light

This is a picture of the hood of a baby blue Corvette under hideous sodium light. Although the colour is not perfect in this negative colour film shot it is miles better than I could achieve with my digital D80. Modern negative films deal very well with difficult light -- especially mixed difficult light.

Four Seasons Roof

I was fortunate enough to be allowed to do some shooting from the roof of the Four Seasons Hotel in Doha. The first thing I noticed was the roof!

Seeing It

The subject here is the shadow of the satellite dish on the wall of the house. Setting up the tripod was the easy part. The key was to see the potential.

Don't Own A Macro Lens?

Me either. For this shot I used a reverse mounting kit to reverse my 24mm lens. I think I then had some closeup lenses (screw-on) mounted in front of the reversed lens. This is the tip of a leaf on a daffodil, by the way.

Patterns in Nature

Green and yellow. Cool.

Shooting The Less Obvious Angle

Bryce Canyon is a truly amazing place. The hoodoos are extremely photogenic. For that very reason it is difficult to get an original picture of them. However, nearby there is other interesting geology...
